Crowley, LA—Isabella delaHoussaye, candidate for State Representative in District 42, has received the distinguished endorsement of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry’s (LABI) WESTPAC. This entity represents the political interests of business people throughout the western region of Louisiana.
Ginger Sawyer, executive director of LABI, said, “The board’s decision was primarily driven by the strength of Isabella’s interview which showed her background, character, and philosophy to uniquely qualify her to serve in the Louisiana House of Representatives. In addition, the committee noted her focus on economic development and history of working to attract jobs to the Crowley area. Her unique experiences position her well to continue these efforts in District 42 and the legislature.”
When informed of the endorsement, Isabella commented, “It is an honor to have the confidence and backing of the local business community in this race. As your representative, I will continue the path I have started and support the growth of business to advance of the state of Louisiana as a whole. It is my goal to create and expand economic opportunities for our state and our citizens.”
Isabella delaHoussaye served as mayor of the City of Crowley for nine years. During her terms, the city experienced unprecedented growth. Crowley’s revenue base expanded, the recreation departments was revitalized, basic infrastructure—including roads and drainage—were modernized, and city services improved. She also spearheaded the historic restoration of the new Crowley City Hall and established the Rice Interpretive Center and the J.D. Miller Recording Studio Museum. Equally important is her experience with disaster recovery in the wake of three hurricanes which impacted the city during her tenure.
